Proposed Research Topic:
The purpose of a television ident is to appeal to there target audience and grab the attention of the audience and to let the audience know what there channel or programme would be like. This idents will show the corporate identity of the channel, which would give the audience a better understanding of the channels ethos. SO that our ident is suitable for our target audience will have to use the right colours, images are correct and suit the channel. For the channel Dave we could only use a limited amount of colours as some of the others colours wouldn’t be appropriate for their corporate identity.
Purposes:
I will research on how to create a effective ident because if the ident is appealing then it will attract a larger audience and keep the viewers on the channel. After finding the target audience, which Dave is looking for, I could find out what theme and how I can design my ident.
Background
I will need to look at Dave’s background and look at the colours, space, speed and theme and decide how I should design my ident. This will help me create a better and more efficient at gaining bigger audiences and viewers or the channel
Scope:
I will need to take some surveys and focus groups once I have found out the corporate identity, so we I found out Dave’s target audience I will be able to interview the people that come into this target audience. The number of interviews that I will take will be around 10-20. Which would give me some strong results and will help me decide and create my ident.
Method:
The first ting that I will do will look at Dave’s corporate identity, after this I will look at the colour scheme, font design and ident design. Which will help improve my design. Dave’s ident. Following that I will need to take around 10-20 interview and surveys which this information I will be able to find out who I should aim my ident at, what it should look like and how it should make that audience feel. Once I have all my information for the surveys and interview I will then have a look at Dave’s existing idents, from this I can find out if the idea I had was based around the other idents if so change my idea. If I wasn’t to make my ident with the theme of the other idents I would not be creating and effective ident for Dave.
Limitations:
There are a few limitation that will affect me when designing my ident although they are very strong limitations, which include that I don’t work for the company therefore I cannot get any vital information about the company and its identity, so the evidence that I do collect will only be a estimate. The other limitation that I’m limited to is that when performing the surveys I am only limited to Ravens Wood School students. So this will lead to my surveys being mainly taken by men, therefor this will give my results mainly based and suited for men as there are only a few women. So to make this a fair and non-bias survey I will need give my survey to both women and men
